Legend of the three-hooved buck

| September 27, 2018 7:10 PM

A caller reported to the Kalispell Police Department that there was a crippled white-tailed buck in the neighborhood. An officer said it appeared to be the same buck that has been in the area for a number of years. The deer was able to get around on three hooves and appeared to be healthy.

Someone stole salt and pepper shakers from an area restaurant.

A caller said there were two infants in a vehicle with no adults present. When an officer walked up to the vehicle, the mother of the children exited a Jeep that was parked across from the vehicle with the kids. The officer spoke to the mother, who said she was having treatment outside the vehicle with her therapist. When it became chilly, the two people went into the therapist’s vehicle to continue the treatment, but they could see the kids the entire time. An officer said the kids appeared to be fine.

Someone said there was a man passed out in the alley. An officer determined the man was OK. He was going to sleep it off and ride his bike home when he was feeling better. A second caller saw the man collapsed in a yard. He was wearing Bermuda shorts and a long-sleeved shirt. An officer made sure the man got to his home.

A woman who was at an extended-stay hotel was harassed by a couple when she went outside to smoke. She said the man said she couldn’t be there and that he was going to have her kicked out. An officer spoke with both parties and settled the situation.
