14th annual pond skim Saturday on Big Mountain

Whitefish Mountain Resort wraps up the ski season with one epic splash at the 14th annual pond skim contest on Saturday.

The pond skim features skiers and snowboarders attempting to cross a custom-built pond for a chance at a $1,050 cash purse. Costumes are mandatory for contestants.

This event always fills up for competitors with thousands of spectators lining the Middle Fork slope cheering.

The pond is located in the Lift Plaza area right by Chair 1. Start time is 2:30 p.m.
