Libby rolls by Flathead in softball, 18-8
LIBBY — Taylor Holm went 3 for 4 at the plate and drove in six runs to power Libby’s offense in an 18-8 nonconference softball victory over Flathead on Thursday.
Libby (1-1) scored in every inning and used a six-run fifth to end the game on the 10-run rule after five innings.
Libby banged out 14 hits, which included doubles by Holm, Samantha Miller, Sammee Bradeen and Emily Carvey. Linsey Walker, McKenzie Proffitt and Bethany Thomas had two hits each for Libby.
“We hit the ball well,” Libby coach Dean Thompson said. “I thought our pitchers threw really well.”
“Kalispell made a couple of runs at us in a couple innings,” Thompson added.
“They had people on base to score a few more.”
Libby has a Northwest A game on Saturday at home versus Columbia Falls at 3 p.m. Flathead (0-1) is scheduled for nonconference Class AA action at Great Falls C.M. Russell at Great Falls High on Saturday.
