Blacktail Mountain Ski Area is planning to stay open as long as skiers keep showing up and conditions cooperate.

Arin Lever, Blacktail Marketing Director, said the ski area above Lakeside will be open weekends only through April 13-14. After that, the area will open on weekends if the weather holds and enough skiers come out.

The ski area on Friday was in good shape with spring conditions and a 76 inch base at the summit. The temperature was 32 on the summit at 5 a.m.

“All riders have been raving about the spring conditions, surprised and thrilled,” the ski area’s snow report said Friday.

Season pass holders from any Montana ski area can show their pass for a $25 day ticket the rest of this season.

Blacktails’ Early Bird Season Pass Sale has started as well. Purchase a pass for next season and ski the remainder of this season free. Adult passes are priced at $395, teenagers $240, children (8-12) $140, and all fifth-graders and children 7 and under get a pass for $10. Blacktail also offers a free beginner’s area, which will be expanded this summer.
