Dad bails out kids' flubbed dine-and-dash

Kalispell Police Department officers were called to investigate an attempted dine-and-dash. When they arrived at the restaurant, employees said four juveniles took off from the restaurant and four were still inside. They said one of the four people who ran away had originally said they were going to pay for everyone’s meal. The four remaining juveniles did not have any money to pay, and said they were unable to reach friends who could help them pay for their food. One parent was reached, who agreed to come to the restaurant and pay for food.

Vehicles throughout a neighborhood were egged overnight. It didn’t appear that any damage was sustained, but police were notified.

A group of teens were busted for allegedly drinking and smoking marijuana at a party. They were cited and released to their parents.

A couple of mischievous kids were counseled after starting a small fire at “graffiti rock.”

A woman was taken to the hospital after an alleged physical disturbance. The reporting party allegedly saw a man choking the woman in an alley.

A newborn baby was accidentally locked inside a running vehicle.

A caller reported an apparently intoxicated man getting a haircut with his kids. Police determined the man’s wife was driving and that she was sober.

A caller reported an unattended child crying in a vehicle. The child wasn’t feeling well, but was old enough to take care of herself, police determined.

A man in a North Kalispell parking lot was seen yelling at a child as he was changing a diaper. He threw the diaper on the ground and drove off.

A man said he was driving in Martin City when people in another vehicle boxed him in, forcing him stop in the middle of the highway. The people told him they had the vehicle title and that they were taking the vehicle. The man said he had photos of the suspects in a maroon van.

Loud explosions, possibly from fireworks, were heard in town.

A woman was caught stuffing merchandise into a huge black bag. She was arrested and 86’d from the store.

A man at a bar was left with broken glasses after a verbal dispute turned into a wrestling match.

A caller suspected neighbors were cooking meth due to the strong chemical odor coming from the house. This was becoming a common occurrence.

A stocky man with slicked-back hair allegedly slapped a woman and then tried to fight four other people outside of a bar.

Police determined that an attempted break-in was probably just the wind.

Skis, snowshoes, sunglasses and $30 in silver were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

A counterfeit $20 bill was found in a garbage can.

A woman found syringes and a bag of powder on her porch.

Speakers and a stereo were stolen from an unlocked vehicle. The vehicle was totally destroyed.

A rifle was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.
