Artists stage fundraiser for Hockaday

| April 11, 2019 2:00 AM

The Hockaday Museum of Art announces its Artists Give Back silent auction fundraiser from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, April 13, at the Grouse Mountain Lodge, 2 Fairway Drive in Whitefish.

Professional artists from throughout Northwest Montana and beyond will have rare pieces from the artists’ own archives available for purchase through a silent auction with a “Buy It Now” option. All the works will be unframed, ranging in size from approximately 5-by-7 inches to 11-by-14 inches.

New this year is the addition of jewelry and other 3-D works, including pieces from students of the Flathead Valley Community Art College Art Program. This event is a wonderful opportunity to start your own collection of original art or find that one-of-a-kind piece to add to your existing collection. Meet and learn about the talented artists who are graciously donating 100 percent of the art for the event. All proceeds support the Hockaday’s 50th year of bringing art and culture-based programs for all ages to our valley.

There will be a full cash bar, appetizers and local music by the duo Stick and String. Patrons can purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win a variety of prizes from numerous local businesses.

Tickets are available at the Hockaday Museum of Art or at the door and are $15 for museum members and $25 for nonmembers.
