Discarded mail at park was just litter

| April 14, 2019 2:00 AM

A litterbug apparently was on the loose in the Woodland Park area when a caller said there appeared to be “a bunch of mail” strewn about the area. The reporting party said it’s possible the papers were thrown out a car window. When a Kalispell Police officer checked it out, the paperwork turned out to be blank sheets of paper and nothing more, so the officer picked up the papers and threw them in the trash. Perhaps it was just a case of writer’s block.

The police dealt with various dog-related calls. Someone stopped by the Police Department lobby to report she’d found rat poison in her yard where she keeps her dog. She’s worried someone’s trying to poison her pooch.

A woman said a white and black bulldog allegedly attacked her and her Schnauzer, but they weren’t injured.

A woman was walking her dog and children at a local park and reported a pitbull was off-leash in the park and allegedly attacked the caller’s dog. The dog wasn’t injured, but the woman said she was afraid for her child.

Dispatch took a call from a woman whose vehicle was broken into at a parking lot. The thief snatched a lunch box, apparently mistaking it for the woman’s purse. Around the same time, another vehicle was reportedly broken into. The passenger window was smashed and this time the thief got away with a woman’s purse.
