• Simply406 is the new umbrella company to Polson-based brands Country Pasta and Tipu’s Chai. Country Pasta is distributed in local stores and major retailers throughout the country. Tipu’s Chai is an authentic recipe handed down by the founder’s grandmother from Gujarat, India. The chai started as a menu item in a Missoula restaurant and expanded to coffee houses and retailers across the state, Canada, and some international locations. Visit Simply406.com.

• Whitefish Credit Union recently won a number of Best of Category awards from the Credit Union National Association’s Marketing & Business Development Council national competition. The credit union’s high school spirit debit cards campaign won Diamond Best of Show and Whitefish Credit Union marketing was also designated the “best” in the following categories:

Credit card video mailer for Direct Mail, Video (noncommercial) and Cutting-Edge Marketing;

High school spirit debit cards for Plastic Access Card Design and Video Commercial;

Northwest Montana Fair interactive 3D chalk art for One-Time Event.

Whitefish Credit Union was also recognized as having the best annual report and best membership marketing.

• Fastoys of Kalispell won a $19,822 federal contract from the U.S. Forest Service for small business for utility vehicles for the Hungry Horse Ranger District in Montana.

• Thompson Contracting Inc., of Libby won a $193,084 federal contract set aside for small business from the U.S. Forest Service for the replacement of the East Fork Pipe Creek bridge at the Libby Ranger District of the Kootenai National Forest in Lincoln County.

• Mountain States Leasing of Kalispell won a $734,880 federal contract from the General Services Administration’s Public Buildings Service for the lease of up to 3,334 square feet of space for the Department of Agriculture in Baker.

• Jeff Walla has been named project manager and branch manager for the Kalispell office of Territorial-Landworks, Inc., a Missoula-based engineering and surveying firm. Walla has over 25 years of experience in the design of water and wastewater infrastructure, highways, subdivisions, site development, airport design and planning, and municipal work. Walla worked as a civil engineer at Jackola Engineering and Architecture, and project manager for KLJ. Walla has bachelor’s degrees in civil engineering and marketing from Montana State University and is a registered professional engineer in Montana and Idaho.
