Bertha R. Watson, 84

Bertha R. Watson, 84 passed away Aug. 5, 2019 surrounded by family at the home of her daughter Barbara “Bobbie” Franson in Olney. Bertha was born Nov. 3, 1934 in Shelby.

Bertha was the oldest of eight children and was raised in the West Valley area. Bertha and Bob Watson raised their children at their home in Olney. They ran the Watson Logging & Saw Mill Co. for many years.

She was a member of the Moose Lodge for 50 years. She will be missed by everyone.

Bertha was preceded in death by her parents Olaf and Julia Erickson; brothers, John and Leslie Erickson; sisters, Mae Christensen, Julia Weber, and Ellen Rickard; husbands, Ernest Christensen, Leo Stock, and Robert Watson.

She is survived by her children, Clifford Christensen (Pam) of Kalispell, Linda Watson (Gary) of Olney, Barbara (Neal) Franson of Olney, Lloyd (Deanne) Stock of Spokane and Jeff Watson of Whitefish, three stepsons, Gary, Mike, and Kelly Watson and stepdaughter Kathy Rhodes. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way and one great-great-grandchild.

Memorial services for Bertha will be held at 2 p.m. Aug. 14 at the Whitefish Community Center with burial at Whitefish Cemetery following with a luncheon.
