Christa Kloetzke, 84

Christa Kloetzke, 84, passed away on July 4, 2019, at her home in Columbia Falls.

Christa Gunther Kloetzke was born June 19, 1935, in Germany. During the war years it was a struggle and Christa tells of family going to Bodenbach to meet her father after the war, before the border was closed. The post-war years were challenging. Christa married an American GI and moved to Maryland in 1959. That marriage ended and Christa met and married Bob Kloetzke of Columbia Falls. They moved to the valley and Christa worked for Dr. Bennett at the Columbia Falls Clinic in the early 1970s. When Dr. Bennett sold his practice to Dr. Doug Pitman and Dr. Chet Hope, Christa worked for them until her retirement in 1997. Christa and Bob enjoyed motorcycle trips and fall hunting. She enjoyed her yard, flowers, garden and her animals. She was a competitive bowler and enjoyed bingo.

Christa was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, in 2003 and brother Heinz Rudolph Gunther. She is survived by her brother, Bruno (Vera) Gunther and sister Hannelore (Karl-Heinz) Faust and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place and inurnment will take place later this summer. At Christa’s request, no services are planned at this time. Columbia Mortuary in Columbia Falls is caring for the family.
