The Kalispell Planning Department is seeking participants to take a survey about walking and biking in Kalispell.

The city is in the process of developing a pedestrian and bicycle plan based in part on this feedback.

The survey is active now on the city of Kalispell website. It consists of 15 questions regarding residents’ walking and biking habits in the city, as well as their preferences for future developments. The announcement of the survey on the city’s website reported the survey “should take no more than 10 minutes to complete.”

It will reportedly be available online for the next few months, with no set deadline in place yet.

The news flash about the survey outlined the Planning Department’s goals for developing the pedestrian and bicycle plan. It stated, “the plan will identify and help to prioritize strategies that will increase the number and frequency of people walking and bicycling within the city of Kalispell.”

It also listed a variety of recommendations that will be included in the plan based on public input, such as “improving the connectivity, safety, mobility, convenience and maintenance of the pedestrian and bicycle networks.”

The survey offers the option to list up to five streets where people would like to see walking or biking improvements, such as the addition of a bike path. It also asks about impediments that have prevented Kalispell residents from walking or biking in the city in the past.

“Your input is critical to help develop a plan that addresses the needs of people on foot and on bicycle in neighborhoods within the city of Kalispell,” the announcement stated.
