Glacier slams Skyview
BILLINGS — Junior quarterback JT Allen passed for 292 yards and four touchdowns and sophomore Jake Rendina ran for three more as Glacier slammed Billings Skyview 47-6 on Friday night in the Class AA football opener for both schools.
Allen was 14 of 18 passing and had TD strikes of 10 yards to Colin Bowden, 66 yards to Drew Deck, 18 yards to Mason Naomi and 74 yards to Luke Bilau.
“I’m so proud of him,” Glacier coach Grady Bennett said of Allen.
“One thing about our system, he doesn’t have to do anything special. He just has to manage the offense, do his part and get the ball to his athletes.”
Rendina had 114 yards rushing on 19 carries.
“A huge, huge debut for him,” Bennett said.
Glacier has started the season slowly the last two years, but this was a complete switch. Glacier led 41-0 at the half.
“It’s what we have been talking about all off-season,” Bennett said.
“We have to start better. It has cost us the last couple years, so all our focus was getting off to a fast start. The kids pulled that off tonight. Now we just have to keep it going.”
Glacier has a nonconference game at Legends Stadium next Friday versus Mount Spokane.
