Cursing children given talking-to by local deputy

Friday, Nov. 22

— A caller reported a burglary at shop on Mud Lake Road. Multiple rifles had reportedly been taken. Dispatch advised the reporting party to wait outside the shop and not to touch anything else.

— Footprints around a house for sale were reported on Windsor Court. The caller said the gate was unlocked and there were signs that someone had been on the porch looking into the residence. They requested additional patrols in the area.

— A blue two-door Pontiac was reportedly on private property at Osborn Ave.

— A caller on Beach Road gave a report about their neighbor.

— A caller reported their friend was disoriented while hiking in the Jewel Basin area. The hiker was reportedly hiking, but uncertain which trail he was on. The hiker later located a road at Camp Misery. A deputy responded and located the hiker in question who turned out to be OK.

— An individual reported a gold Honda parked on Grand Drive they believed didn’t belong to anyone in the area. The car’s owner was visiting family and had parked on the roadway because dogs weren’t allowed on the property.

— The driver of a silver Chevy Malibu was reportedly speeding and swerving and nearly hit oncoming traffic on Swan Way.

Saturday, Nov. 23

— An individual suspected a squatter had taken up residence in a home on Bigfork Stage Road. A deputy spoke to a neighbor of the house in question who reported the owner was Canadian and had been at the house recently.

— A caller reportedly heard a female screaming “let me leave” from a Grand Drive apartment. The woman in question later returned to her home and was OK.

— A deputy overheard a child say a curse word during a game of tag or hide and seek on Grande Drive and spoke with the children. They agreed to used better words and not yell “because no one wants to play with a yeller.”

— A caller on Foothill Road reported a burglary at their home. The door was unlocked and a curtain over her door had been knocked down. The caller suspected her landlord was responsible.

Sunday, Nov. 24

— A caller’s husband located a female on Peterson Creek Lane who said she had been punched in the face and that an unknown male pulled her out of her car and stole the vehicle. The female in question was reportedly unable to provide clear details on what happened, but the incident possibly occurred in Lake County. She was advised to file a report in that county.

— An individual reported their overnight bag had been stolen on Grand Drive. The caller suspected people camping in their vehicles nearby had taken the items.

— A caller on Village Lane reported an individual living at their residence was not paying rent.

Monday, Nov. 25

— A caller said they saw a post on Facebook showing Shitzus in plastic tubs that needed to be re-homed and wanted to help them. A deputy said that without an address there was noting they could do.

— An out of state caller inquired about the welfare of a local woman.

— Medication was reportedly stolen from a Hwy. 35 mailbox.

Tuesday, Nov. 26

— Extra patrols were requested on Pierce Lane.

Wednesday, Nov. 27

— A resident on Beach Road asked to speak with the sergeant about his neighbor who had allegedly been harassing him for over a year. Dispatch advised the caller that if the situation was non-emergent, they would not be taking a report. The caller asked for the dispatcher’s name.

— A caller on Hwy. 83 reported ongoing issues with their neighbor. A tree fell on their yard and the neighbor cut it up and took the wood.

— Another caller on Hwy. 83 asked deputy to call them about a tree he removed from his “legal access way” to his residence.

— Trees reportedly fell on an Echo Chalet Drive residence.

— An individual on Driftwood Drive reported a female was supposed to be in Butte that afternoon but they had not heard from her. The caller asked if law enforcement could check on her residence.

Thursday, Nov. 28

— A caller on Hwy. 83 requested to speak with an officer because their neighbor drove by and “blasted his horn” and she blew her horn back, and then heard him fire about six shots toward an undetermined location. Deputies spoke with both parties and advised them to seek legal counsel since their problem was a civil issue.

— An individual reported their neighbor’s door was open on Jewel Basin Court, but they were not inside. Deputies cleared the residence.

Friday, Nov. 29

— An individual on Hwy. 83 reported they were concerned about a female who had allegedly been drinking.

— A caller on Beach Road stated they had been harassed by a neighbor who they believe refused to turn off their brights and slammed a door.
