Combative canines, nosey neighbors keep deputies busy

Friday, Dec. 6

— A caller on Beach Road alleged that his neighbors had been following him whenever he went outside and requested extra patrols in the area.

— A bike was left behind a local business. The reporting party put it inside and asked that someone come pick it up.

—An abandoned Honda with a flat tire and lots of damage was reported on Montana Highway 35. Dispatch was unable to make contact with the registered owner.

— A caller on Grand Drive reported concerns about a male who had allegedly made threats against their brother involving a gun. The caller’s questions were answered and they were given information about how to file a temporary restraining order.

— A maroon Chevy parked on Electric Avenue was reportedly blocking an individual’s driveway. The caller contacted a tow company which had advised them to contact dispatch. The owner was later located and the tow was cancelled. The vehicle had gotten stuck and was later relocated.

Saturday, Dec. 7

— A caller reported a runaway juvenile. They stated the juvenile usually vapes behind their house or downtown. The reporting party later called back after looking for the juvenile to say she found them.

— A male on Electric Avenue was reportedly acting strangely and using a flashlight to pick through pine needles on the ground. Deputies were unable to locate the individual in question.

— A blue heeler was reportedly at large in a Jewel Basin Court apartment complex. The at large canine allegedly attacked the reporting party’s dog the day before. The owner of the escaped dog was advised of the complaint and of the county dog ordinance.

— Individuals burning slash piles on Alpine Drive were allegedly refusing to cooperate with the fire department and were putting additional resources on the fire outside of open burn season.

— A female in a Toyota Yaris allegedly trespassed on her ex-husband’s property on Highway 83. The caller said he had footage of the female on the premises and that a section of his yard had been “destroyed” when she “peeled out.” A deputy left a message for the woman in question.

— An individual on Chapman Hill Road reported a large wreath and 30 feet of garland and lights had been stolen.

— A caller on Beach Road requested to speak with a deputy and also requested additional patrols. The same caller called back a second time regarding surveillance footage he had of a male.

Sunday, Dec. 8

— A female reported the father of her children, whom she was in a shared custody agreement with, had not returned the children that morning and was not answering her calls or texts. She stated they got into an altercation the night before and law enforcement was called, which may be why he wasn’t answering her calls.

— An individual on Sleepy Hollow Way reported a truck in their driveway that kept going in and out of the drive when no one was supposed to be there.

— Emergency medical services transported a male to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

Monday, Dec. 9

— A male was reportedly trying to fight with an employee at a Hwy. 35 establishment and left in a black Dodge truck. The male allegedly had an altercation with the reporting party’s boss at a hardware store and followed them to another store.

— An individual gave pictures of Christmas decorations that had been stolen to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office to add to their report.

— A caller on Crestview Drive reported having plumbing issues.

— An individual on Ferndale Drive reported a dog that chased them regularly when they went out walking.

—A caller reported suspects stealing mail on Sylvan Drive. A mail carrier reportedly found opened Christmas cards that were dumped on the road.

Wednesday, Dec. 11

— A security alarm sounded at a local business. Deputies responded to the scene and found a smashed door. A busted window was reported at another location also on Hwy. 35. A third establishment was also vandalized. An individual later dropped off footage of the break-in at the first location.

— A caller gave information about a suspect behind multiple incidents of vandalism on Hwy. 35.

— A driver said they were unintentionally following their soon-to-be ex-wife on Bridge Street and wanted to know what to do if she complained about him.

— An individual on Canyon Trail reported the driver of a truck was driving slowly and shining a light into people’s houses.

— A caller said a brick had been thrown through their business window on Hwy. 35.

— A woman on Blue Lake Lane who was going through a separation called with questions about removing a male from the residence.

— An individual at a local bar said they knew the name of a male who allegedly vandalized the business.

— A caller reported a male who allegedly smelled of alcohol was stumbling near a local store. The male reportedly left in a Ford Explorer.

Thursday, Dec. 12

— A caller on Beach Road said he was concerned that an individual who reportedly drove by his residence the night before was going to return and cause him harm. Extra patrols were requested for the night.

— An individual went to the sheriff’s office to ask questions regarding identity theft.

— A caller said a dog charged them for a third time while they were walking. The dog was described as a brindle pitbull. The dog’s owner was advised of the county dog ordinances.

— An individual reported a male parked a truck at the end of their driveway on Gunner Lane and walked through the gate into their backyard while a siren was going off. The caller said they would have their son check the residence.

— A caller said his child’s mother was in jail and he wanted to get the child from the child’s grandmother. The caller was advised that they did not have custody in the parenting plan, only visitation, so he would not be able to get the child.

— A caller on Bear Hollow Drive requested to speak with a deputy.

— An individual reported the garage door to their neighbor’s house was left open with the lights on. The house was later determined to be secure.
