Lois Robbe Stroud, 91
Lois Robbe Stroud of Columbia Falls, (formerly of Eureka) died peacefully on Jan. 22, 2019, at Beehive Assisted Living where she had resided since September 2010.
Lois was born May 26, 1927, in Waverly, Washington, to J. Fletcher and Alma Robbe. Her family moved to Eureka in 1939. They made their home on the Robbe Homestead just up the road from Lick Lake. Lois attended schools in Eureka, graduating from Lincoln County High.
Lois met Russell E. Stroud on a blind date and they were married for 63 years until Russ passed in 2008.
Mom’s happiest years were when she and Dad purchased three lots on the northwest side of Glen Lake in 1959 for the whopping price of $500 per lot!
They created, built and landscaped their home through the years. Mom loved watching the boats on the lake and the wildlife in the yard.
She also loved to get together during the 1960s and ’70s on the weekends when everyone would be out at their cabins enjoying the lake. Neighbors would gather, taking turns hosting outdoor parties where there would be music, dancing, cocktails and lots of fun!
Lois is survived by daughters, Charyle (Bob) Boulton of Kalispell, and Rhonda Krieger of Whitefish; grandchildren, Kevin (Carole) Boulton, Kristie Holcomb and Loni (Bryan) Mrgich.; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Katelynn Holcomb, and Chase Krieger; along with nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Russell; half siblings, Irene Robbe Turner, Al Marion Robbe, Jean Robbe Miller, and brother Wayne Robbe; also son-in-law Ed Krieger.
Our family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Beehive who took excellent and loving care of our mother. And thank you to Home Options Hospice, for all they did.
No services, as requested. Interment will be at Tobacco Valley Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the care of Schnackenberg and Nelson Funeral Home.
