Misery loves company for freed man

A man who had been jailed called the Columbia Falls Police Department to report a theft from his vehicle while he was behind bars. He said he knew some of the items were at someone’s trailer. He didn’t want to press charges but he wanted to get his stuff back.

Someone called the Whitefish Police Department to report that a business had been broken into through the back door. The caller said a computer and a cash box were on the floor.

A person reported a car had been broken into with sunglasses and headphone having been stolen. The caller said there was surveillance footage.

Someone reported a vehicle that was stuck in a snow bank. When an officer responded he spoke with the driver, he said he parked there to go sledding. When he got back into the car, his foot came off the clutch at an inopportune moment and the vehicle jumped the curb. He did manage to extricate the car from the snow after considerable effort. The officer did tell the sledder that if any damage was found, authorities would be in touch with him.

The noise from a loud house party resulted in a phone call. A visit by an officer resulted in an agreement to keep it down.

A fist fight left people bloodied, but no one wanted to press charges.

Someone said a drunk driver in a van just dropped him off at the airport. He left the back doors open and was swerving all over the road. The caller said he thought the inebriated man was headed back to the hotel because someone there owed him money.

A person who wanted to wash his vehicle reported someone had tampered with the coin machines at the car wash.

A man who chose to shoplift from a Kalispell store was run down by store employees, according to Kalispell Police logs. An officer checked and learned there was a warrant for his arrest and he was held for other authorities.

A woman “freaking out” had yelled at her beloved for about 10 minutes. She had red hair and wore a pink jacket. He wore a brown coat with a hoodie and a white hat. The caller said he was on his way to work when he saw the fracas. An officer determined the incident was just related to marital issues.

Another Apple phone accidental dial resulted in a call to 911.

An officer had to separate a couple after they engaged in a physical altercation. They agreed to stay separated for the night.
