Man ensnares federally protected bird with towel

Flathead County Sheriff’s Office received a report from a woman on Reserve Drive Kalispell who said her husband caught an owl and wrapped it in a towel because it allegedly killed one of her chickens. The woman was advised to release the federally protected bird. Fish and Game may have also been dispatched.

A woman on Park Avenue in Hungry Horse was seen throwing a man’s belongings outside of a house and was yelling and screaming. The woman purportedly had a history of becoming violent, and, apparently liked to throw things at people.

Someone on Wildebeest Lane in Marion reportedly called deputies on behalf of a friend selling her home and wanted information about a neighbor. The friend supposedly had a buyer concerned with how safe it was to move there. Deputies left a message that the office would not provide personal information about neighbors.

A man was spotted driving a black truck around an airstrip near Aero Lane in Bigfork and reportedly ignored the “no motorized vehicles on the airstrip” signs. The person calling in the report said the man was confrontational when he told him he couldn’t drive there.

A man walking on the road called officers to tell them he was freezing. The man reportedly said he had been accused of stealing a chain saw and people were shooting at him, but he got away. Although chilled, the man refused medical attention and became upset when told an ambulance was en route and hung up. He called back to tell officers his phone was going dead and he was still freezing and was in someone’s garage on Edgewood Drive. Due to extreme temperatures, officers transported him to a relative, but he was uncooperative about what happened.

A vendor on U.S. 2 in Kalispell told deputies a candy and toy vending machine had been damaged and items stolen.

An older man with a little black dog was allegedly taking pictures of a woman’s truck and her 15-year-old daughter inside it on U.S. 2 in Kalispell. The mother was concerned if he would be able to find out where she lived using the license plate number.
