Carter Scott Lamoreaux was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus on Feb. 19, 2019.

What a joyful day it was when he first started brightening our world on Nov. 15, 2013. Carter was born in Kalispell to parents Shawn Lamoreaux and Mileah Roberts.

This beautiful, loving little boy will be remembered for being joyful, helpful, courageous and always loving. Carter enjoyed building with Legos, reading books, challenging himself with difficult puzzles, singing nursery rhymes and dancing. He had the biggest heart for absolutely everyone he knew. Carter was extremely intelligent and was always eager to learn new things. His smile and laughter were contagious and will never be forgotten. Carter’s greatest joy was being a big brother to three younger siblings. His eyes would light up and he loved sharing with them and teaching them everything he could. Carter could be found kissing his baby sister’s cheeks and hugging his brother Blake, his eyes twinkling like theirs.

Carter was a very energetic little boy with the biggest heart. Everyone that met him couldn’t help but fall in love with his spunky personality. Carter was always busy. He loved to dance, play sports, sled, kayak, hike, play board games, go on carnival rides, go to the park and finally learned to love water and swimming. At the end of the day, he loved his cuddles while reading him a book (or all of the books). He loved apple juice, strawberry milk, chicken nuggets and French fries along with all the candy in the world, especially Sour Patch Kids, his favorite. He started school this year at Head Start. He was above average in his class, he could count past 100, do simple addition, sing his ABCs, write his own name as well as spell out other words by sounding them out. Ryan’s Toy Adventure was always on his iPad. Last but not least, Carter loved his family, hanging out and having sleepovers. He loved to pretend cook food and serve it to you. His bear hugs and nonstop kisses went around a couple times before he would leave. Then it was off to bed with his Pikachu.

Carter is survived by his daddy Shawn Lamoreaux and his fiancee Megan Baker, and mommy Mileah Roberts and her fiance Austin Young; his little brother, Blake Lamoreaux; his baby sisters, Sylvia Young and Ava Lamoreaux; his grandparents, Heidi Long, Jeff Lamoreaux, Kari Hooper and her husband Mark, Shane Roberts; aunt, Seonna Lamoreaux; uncle, Brock Hooper; great-grandparents, John and Sonja Emerson, Ron Lamoreaux, Renee Berner, Jerry Hanson, Jo Roberts Danell and Jack Roberts; great-great-grandparent, Jean Emerson; as well as countless other family, extended family and friends.

Carter was preceded in death by his great-grandpa Bryce Berner, and his great-grandma Vicki Lamoreaux.

The Roberts family invites friends and family to a celebration of Carter’s life at 10 a.m. this Thursday, Feb. 28, at Northridge Lutheran Church, 323 Northridge Drive in Kalispell. A lunch reception will immediately follow at Northridge Lutheran’s Celebration Hall.

The Lamoreaux family will hold a celebration of Carter’s life at 1 p.m. this Thursday, Feb. 28, at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home, 525 Main Street in Kalispell. A reception at Grouse Mountain Lodge, 2 Fairway Drive, will be held at 4 p.m. in Whitefish.

Memorials can be made to the Kalispell Regional Healthcare Foundation for its Pediatrics Unit or a charity of your choice.
