Feat x Feet celebrates 22 years of performance
This month the Whitefish-based youth tap ensemble Feat x Feet celebrates 22 years of dancing and music.
Their winter show running Jan. 11-13 is called Art in Motion, and was named by company seniors Gabbi Paulson and Lauren Schulz, who noted, “We chose the title of the show because we enjoy being able to take art outside of a classroom setting and use it in motion.”
On the stage for their final steps will be seniors Lauren Schulz, Gabbi Paulson, Aren Alexander and Jade Greenberg. Paulson and Alexander are both graduating seniors from Glacier High School and Schulz and Greenberg are both seniors graduating from Whitefish High school.
Ashley Smith is the owner and artistic director for Feat x Feet. She’s been bringing tap to the Flathead for the past 21 years.
“It’s going to be a fun show,” Smith said. “It’s a really amazing coming together of music and our local students all on one stage. It’s very unique and upbeat.”
Also joining the Tap Ensemble on stage will be the tap school kids, who will perform at the Saturday and Sunday shows. Friday will feature just the ensemble.
The winter shows are 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11; 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, and 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, at the O’Shaughnessy Center in Whitefish.
