Wylie & The Wild West play in Polson

Wylie & The Wild West perform at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, at Polson High School Auditorium.

Wylie & the Wild West is known internationally for their captivating presentation of original and traditional music of America and its colorful West. Wylie is a gifted singer, songwriter, rancher, horseman and world-famous yodeler.

Tickets are $13 advance purchase and $15 at the door. Youth 18 and under are free, college student with and ID is $5. Tickets may be purchased at Ronan True Value, R&R Healthcare Solutions, First Interstate Bank or Vine & Tap Bar.

Ninepipes Museum hosts Black Tie Dinner

Patrick Matt Jr. is the featured speaker for the 19th annual Black Tie Dinner, a fundraiser for the Ninepipes Museum in Charlo, scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 17.

Guests are invited to tour the museum from 5 to 6 p.m. and then enjoy a no-host social hour from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Ninepipes Lodge before sitting down to dinner at 7 p.m.

Matt is a member of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes, and his family history encompasses both the Pend d’Oreille and Salish heritages.

Dinner tickets are $50 each and can be purchased by calling the museum at 406-644-3435. Many silent auction items, including gift certificates to local businesses, artwork and gift baskets, will be available, as well as some great live auction items.

Montana-based ‘Wildlife’ film showing Friday

The Museum at Central School in Kalispell hosts a one-night screening of the Montana Film Festival Roadshow’s critically acclaimed feature film “Wildlife” at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, at the museum,124 Second Ave E., in Kalispell.

Filmed in Great Falls and Wyoming, the film stars Jake Gyllenhaal and Carey Mulligan. The story unfolds in the 1960s in Great Falls.

Travis Bruyer, founder and director of the Montana Institute for the Arts in Kalispell, was involved in the production of “Wildlife” and will introduce the film.

The show is expected to sell out. Wine, beer, pop and water will be available for purchase. Seating is provided, but guests can bring their own floor pillows, portable chairs, or whatever is comfortable for viewing the film. Call 756-8381 for more information.

Whitefish Handrafted Spirits hosts jazz night

Some of the valley’s best jazz artists will present an informal evening of music when Dr. Bob’s Jazz Trio performs at Whitefish Handcrafted Spirits from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15. The trio consists of Dr. Bob Sherrick on drums, Paul Faessel on bass and Rebecca Nelson on saxophone and flute. They will be playing old standards and modern jazz, along with the occasional request.

Located at 2134 U.S. 2 .E., in Evergreen, the cafe offers homemade, handcrafted and hand-cut lunches, appetizers and dinner options and serves handcrafted spirits created in the distillery.

Angel Theater calls for auditions

Angel Theater at the Old LaSalle Grange announces auditions for an original show, “An Evening of Song, Poetry, Music and Love Letters.”

Auditions will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan.13, and 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14. (Doors open at 3:45 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. respectively.)

Adult singers, musicians and actors/orators (17 years of age and up) are invited to audition.

- Singers should bring a recording of your song, an accompanist or sing a capella.

- Actors/Orators will be given a love letter or poem to read.

- Musicians should bring your instrument and your music (or play from memory).

Acceptable genres include classic or contemporary Broadway, jazz, gospel and contemporary pop along with ballads or a song from a movie musical.

Show performance dates are Feb.14, 15 and 16, three shows total, all evening performances.

Rehearsals start Jan. 21 or Jan. 28 (three to four days a week in the evenings). Tech weekend is Feb. 10 and 11, with Tech Week Feb. 11 through the show opening.

Feat x Feet stages winter show

Feat x Feet celebrates 22 years of dancing and music with the tap dance company’s Art in Motion winter show. Performances are 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11; 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, and 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, at the O’Shaughnessy Center in Whitefish.
