Lack of avocado on a man’s burger may have led to an assault that left his girlfriend bloodied and him facing charges after a recent incident in Kalispell.

Patrick Wade Siler, 44, is facing a felony charge of partner or family member assault, after police said he allegedly punched his girlfriend because she didn’t put avocado on a burger she cooked for him.

According to the criminal complaint, a deputy from the Flathead Valley Sheriff’s Office responded to a call Jan. 5 on Stag Lane in Kalispell. Siler’s girlfriend alleged her boyfriend beat her up and left the house with her cellphone and house keys because he was mad that she didn’t put avocado on a burger.

The girlfriend said Siler “flipped out” and got nose to nose with her, the complaint said. She said she told him to go home and asked him to return her phone. But he allegedly punched her in the face and chased her around.

The deputy noted the victim was crying, had a gash on the inside of her mouth, blood around her lips and a visible bump on her forehead.

The deputy also reported seeing a smashed avocado on the wall and blood on the kitchen floor.

The complaint also stated that Siler has two previous convictions for partner/family assault, one in 1995 and another in 2005.

Siler could be sentenced to a minimum of 30 days up to a maximum of five years.
