Jeanette Klein, 77
Jeanette Klein, 77, went home to her Lord and Savior on Dec. 31, 2018.
Jeanette L. (Jones) Klein was born May 5, 1941, to Richard and Ruth Jones of Kalispell. Jeanette was raised in the Foy’s Lake area of Kalispell, the oldest daughter and one of five children. Jeanette was a 1959 graduate of Flathead County High School, and was active in 4-H growing up. Her grandfather, Rue Carr, was an early founder of 4-H in the Flathead Valley.
She met her husband of 57 years, John Klein, on a blind date set up by her cousin. Jeanette and John were married in October 1961 and have resided on the family homestead north of Columbia Falls their entire married lives.
Jeanette loved to garden, and her family was happy recipients of all her home canned goods and wonderful home cooking growing up. She loved to be outside, working in the soil, or going for long walks with her husband John. Being able to walk and be out in God’s creation was the best medicine for her, she and John continued their daily walks right up to the last month or so of her life. She worked alongside her husband on the family farm for many years, and was also employed outside the home at various places, most recently she was a “lunch lady” at Columbia Falls Elementary, where she loved feeding the children and getting to know them.
Jeanette is survived by her husband, John Klein; daughter Lorie (Roger) Steerman, sons Kevin (Pam) Klein, and Keith (Mylinda) Klein; and grandchildren, Natasha Klein, Thomas (Emily) Klein and boys, Whitney Klein, Marina Steerman, Garrett Steerman, and Anne’, Nyla Jane, and Mason Klein; and sisters, Marjorie Bland and Sharrie Ganiere.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Ruth Jones, brothers Richard and Larry Jones, and parents-in-law, Norbert and Jean Klein.
