Jon Allan 'Jake' Dews, 81

Jon Allan “Jake” Dews, 81, formerly of Big Timber, passed away Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019.

He was a graduate of Arlington High School (Arlington, Texas) in 1956 and attended Texas A&M University.

Jake was an active member of Big Timber Evangelical Church before moving to Columbia Falls in November 2017. At Big Timber Evangelical, he had been a member of the choir, and the hospice ministry for several years.

Jake’s talents were many; he was an accomplished sales professional, a constable and deputy sheriff in Denton County, Texas, a shooting range instructor in both Texas and Montana, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, community volunteer and friend of many.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rabon and Hazel.

Jake is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife of 58 years, Patricia “Pat”; sons, Michael A. Dews and Richard G. Dews; four grandsons, Daniel, Gregory, Wesley and David; granddaughter Allison; great-grandson Everett and great-granddaughter Autumn.
