Prestige Assisted Living at Kalispell recently launched a free resource guide to help older adults and their loved ones address common changes in daily living that come with age.

Available online at prestigecare.com, the “Senior Guide to Healthy, Fulfilled Living” is a free digital booklet filled with information and resources to help seniors stay active and engaged in their later years. The guide covers six different topics, including information and advice from senior living experts and trusted resources.

Covered topics include fall reduction, loneliness, mental sharpness, healthy diets, staying safe behind the wheel, and managing medications.

Musician offers benefit show for C-Falls police

Local musician Luke Dowler will present his 13th annual benefit concert for the Columbia Falls Police Association Friday, Jan. 25, at the Columbia Falls High School Theater. A free pre-concert reception begins at 6 p.m.

Enjoy coffee, an assortment of beverages, cookies and coffee and meet members of the Columbia Falls Police Department.

The concert begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $28. Kids under 15 are admitted free with an adult ticket holder. Group discounts are available. Call 885-1065 for tickets and more information.

Used book sale at Polson library

The North Lake County Public Library District’s Friends of the Library are holding a used book sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26.

Hundreds of used books, DVDs and audiobooks will be for sale at bargain prices.

Look for the new “Friends” T-shirts available for purchase. Hot chocolate, coffee, tea and cookies will be served at no charge. All proceeds and contributions from this event will go toward the “Friends” support of the library’s programs and projects. The sale will be in the large meeting room at the library, 2 First Ave. E. in Polson.

Posters included in the “Recovering the Classics” project taking place across the country are also available for sale.

Registration open for classic boat weekend in June

Registration is open for the Big Sky Chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society’s Whitefish Woody Weekend VIII hosted by the Lodge at Whitefish Lake June 28-30.

Friday’s no-host cocktail hour begins at 6:30 p.m. with an evening cruise at 8 p.m.

Boats will be dockside for public viewing at 9 a.m. Saturday. There will be a show for participants and the public. The public may also register for boat rides.

Sunday features a poker run at 9:30 a.m. followed by a barbecue on the beach at 1 p.m.

Introduction to metals class at C-Falls school

An introduction to metals class will be taught in February and March at Columbia Falls High School. Instructor is Rod Cogliati.

Safely learn oxyacetylene brazing, welding and cutting, electric arc welding, both shielded arc (stick) and metal inert gas (wire). Other metal-working procedures will be done per student interests.

Classes will meet on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the high school metal shop, Feb. 6, 13, 20, 27, March 6, 13, 20 and April 3, 10 and 17.

The cost is $110 for District 6 and $120 for out of district. Sign up and payment may be made at Columbia Falls High School office before the first class.

Meals on Wheels looking for drivers in Kalispell, Bigfork

The Meals on Wheels program is looking for drivers to deliver meals to homebound seniors in the Kalispell and Bigfork areas. Volunteers touch lives with food and friendship and their smile may be the only one a person sees all day.

Drivers are needed for weekday lunchtime delivery. Dedicate one to five days a week — your choice. Volunteer on your own or form a workplace delivery team. Receive training, mileage reimbursement, and a meal for your volunteer service. A route takes about an hour and a half of your time.
