A man was arrested Thursday evening following an armed standoff in Kalispell in which shots were fired with law enforcement officers on the scene.

According to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office, Cody Lindahl was taken into custody without serious injury to himself or law officers.

The alleged incident took place on the 400 block of Valley Drive. Sheriff’s Office deputies responded at 6:30 p.m. to a report of a subject with a gun. When deputies arrived, multiple shots were fired from inside a home, the Sheriff’s Office stated in a media release.

Flathead County and Kalispell Police Department’s swat teams were called out and a perimeter was set up around the residence. Contact was made through negotiations.

The investigation is ongoing.

Lindahl was recently charged in Flathead District Court with one felony count of burglary. In that case he is accused of stealing a deep cycle marine battery on Jan. 12 from a business on U.S. 2 in Kalispell. Lindahl is facing a term of 20 years in the Montana State Prison for that alleged crime.
