Schweikert nets 18, Wildkats top Libby to improve to 15-1
COLUMBIA FALLS — Hannah Schweikert posted a career-high 18 points as the Columbia Falls Wildkats trounced the Libby Lady Loggers 62-41 in a Northwest A girls basketball matchup on Thursday evening.
Schweikert made five 3-pointers for the Wildkats (15-1 overall, 7-1 league) to reach her career best.
“Offensively we played a great game tonight,” Columbia Falls coach Cary Finberg said. “Hannah stepping in with 18 was huge for us. I think as far as us getting ready for the tourney in two weeks, this is a step in the right direction.”
The Wildkats forced 30 turnovers. Trista Cowan scored eight points and had 10 rebounds.
For Libby (9-6, 4-5), Jayden Winslow scored 14 points and Samantha Miller eight.
Libby is back in action Saturday at home versus Frenchtown.
Columbia Falls is off until Feb. 7 when it hosts Whitefish.

Aubrie Rademacher led a balanced Wolfpack attack with 16 points in a 19-point Western AA victory over Sentinel.
Rademacher was deadly at the free-throw line, sinking eight of nine attempts.
She scored 12 points in the second half.
Raley Shirey was four of five foul shooting and added four field goals to finish with 12 points.
Ellie Keller, five of eight at the charity stripe, and three field goals netted 11 points.
Kali Gulick was two for two at the line, hit four field goals and wound up with 10 points.
Challis Westwater paced Sentinel offensively with 15 points. Lexi Deden was next with 11.
Glacier, up 18-17 at the half, put the game away in the second half by outscoring Sentinel 39-21.
Glacier was 19 for 24 from the free-throw line for the game.
Glacier plays at Missoula Hellgate on Saturday.

BIGFORK — Bigfork (6-8) never trailed in the fourth quarter in holding off a Ronan rally for the nonconference victory.
Bigfork relied on its press in third quarter to move in front 41-35.
Ansleigh Edgerton topped Bigfork in scoring with 17 points. Heidi Schneller was next with 11.
Jaylea Lunceford led Ronan with 13 while Regan Clairmont added 12.
Bigfork plays a 7B game at Troy on Saturday.

MISSOULA — Glacier (4-7, 2-3) had five players in double figure scoring, but it still wasn’t enough to help the Wolfpack beat Sentinel (7-4, 4-1) in Western AA play.
Weston Price topped the Glacier offense with 17 points.
Cole Crosby and Drew Engellant were next with 13 each.
Drew Deck tallied 11 and Bret Michaels 10.
Scott Malikie topped Sentinel, and all scorers, with 18 points. Rylan Ortt chipped in 14.
Glacier, down by four after the first quarter, trailed by three — 34-31 — at the half.
Sentinel was in front 57-46 heading into the fourth quarter.

Hellgate held a commanding 31-13 lead the half.
Flathead was held to single digit scoring in each quarter.
Rollie Worster tallied 21 points to power Hellgate. Bridger Deden was next with 17.
Gabe Adams led Flathead with six.

Bigfork outscored Ronan 37-16 in the middle two quarters.
Clayton Reichenbach had a big offensive night with 18 points. Jacob Gatch and Dallas Durheim paced Ronan with 13 and 10, respectively. Bigfork has a 7B contest Saturday at Troy.
