Glacier Symphony gives 'American Salute'

The Glacier Symphony’s annual “Symphony Night at the Farm” concert is Friday and Saturday, July 5 and 6.

Titled “American Salute,” the orchestra under the direction of John Zoltek will perform popular patriotic tunes along with a selection of romantic music by George Gershwin and Aaron Copland.

Set on the rolling lawn at Rebecca Farm in the heart of the Flathead Valley, gates will open at 5:30 p.m. The concerts begin at 7:30 p.m.

Bring low-backed lawn furniture and blankets, but no dogs or barbecue grills. The event will be held rain or shine. Large tents are available in case of inclement weather and concert-goers can make it easy by reserving a picnic table, with some available under a tent. Specially selected vendors will offer ice cream, barbecue fare, gourmet foods and popcorn. Wine, beer, sodas and water will also be available for purchase.

Entry is by the carload. Car passes are $40 in advance through July 2, and $50 the day of the concert. Purchase car passes in advance at www.glaciersymphony.org or call the box office, 406-407-7000. Or bike in for $5 per entry. Rebecca Farm is located at 1010 West Spring Creek Road. Look for the event signs for the event.
