Items down the pants set off store alarms

| July 4, 2019 2:00 AM

A store customer called police to report seeing a man stick multiple items down his pants, which allegedly set off alarms when he tried to leave. The caller told the Kalispell Police Department the man was still in the store, but then left and got into a vehicle with a female driver. The caller said a second man with ratty hair also came out of the store and got into the vehicle and believed they cut the tags off of several items and stashed them to steal later.

In another shoplifting incident, a loss-prevention manager at a Hutton Ranch Road store told police he had a runner when a man tried to leave with a computer and cosmetic items valued at $950. Although the man fled, the employee held onto the cart containing the items.

Police responded to a report of a fire in an upstairs apartment. The person calling it in could smell smoke and was told by other people there were flames.

An employee on U.S. 93 South was trying to make a honest day’s wages when a man allegedly came up and stole their blue and purple Trailblazer mountain bike and was seen turning eastbound on Kelly Road.

A man reportedly went up to someone’s residence and looked through the window. The resident said he took a picture of the man and yelled at him, saying he had the wrong house and he left. He wanted police aware of the incident in case the man was looked into another house.
