Ax-wielding kids flee scene on bikes

Two young kids were seen “bashing out” vehicle windows with an ax on Council Bluffs Drive in Columbia Falls, according to Flathead County Sheriff’s Office logs. When confronted by someone, the kids reportedly claimed it was their house, shouted some expletives and left on bicycles.

Someone in Columbia Falls was suspicious of a man wearing a black trench coat with a rope around the waist, who reportedly rode in on a dirt bike and wanted a job, but didn’t take the application given to him before leaving on Berne Road.

A group of people, some of whom were on probation, reportedly stole “from a pantry” on U.S. 2.

A Somerset Drive resident in Kalispell claimed someone blew up her mailbox.

A woman calling from Ponderosa Trail in Bigfork reported her “heavy duty locking mailbox” was pried open.

Someone on Bison Drive in Kalispell reportedly put outgoing mail in his mailbox and went to work. When he returned the mailbox “flag” was still up, the door open and the mail gone and believed it was possibly stolen.

Deputies received two complaints about horses not receiving water. One call from White Rabbit Lane in Kalispell alleged two horses were “beating on their water trough,” and that they had not “been watered” in two days. The second call claimed the horses were kicking at their water tank. Law enforcement purportedly filled the “completely dry” water trough with a nearby hydrant and hose and the horses were described as “obviously thirsty.” A message was left for the owner, who claimed the horses had about an inch of water left in the morning and that he would water them in the afternoon.

A vehicle allegedly “tried” to run three bikers off the road and a driver pulled into a residence and could be heard yelling at the cyclists.

Kalispell Police Department received a report of a naked man walking on the sidewalk in front of an East Idaho Street business.

A woman alleged her husband locked her car inside a garage and then changed the lock. She reportedly needed the car to go to a chemotherapy appointment. She told police that “apparently they are separated because he seems to have moved out and hasn’t been home in several days.” She was advised that she can’t break into someone’s garage.

A man and woman were seen arguing and shoving each other on Third Avenue East.
