American Legion Baseball West A District Tournament in Libby
Glacier Twins, the defending champions, open West A District play on Thursday versus the Missoula Mavericks at 1 p.m.
Libby is hosting this year’s Montana/Alberta American Legion Baseball tournament.
The top two teams advance to the state tournament in Florence July 27-31, hosted by the Bitteroot Bucs.
Glacier enters this year’s district event as the No. 2 seed. The Twins were the top seed a year ago.
The Bitterroot Red Sox are seeded No. 1 in 2019.
Glacier battled back from a four-run deficit in last year’s district championship game in Hamilton to beat the Red Sox 15-8.
Those two rivals also met in the state championship game in Miles City with Glacier winning 8-6.
The Red Sox were state champions in 2017.
