American Legion Baseball Twins rally by Mavs 6-5 in West A District opener

LIBBY — Glacier’s Twins tallied two runs in the bottom of the seven inning to rally by the Missoula Mavericks 6-5 on the first day of the West A District American Legion baseball tournament at Lee Gehring Field.

Coby Clark-Dickinson, 2 for 2, drove in two runs for Glacier. He doubled and tripled and scored three times.

Austyn Andrachick, 2 for 4, had two RBIs for the Twins.

Zach Veneman, 2 for 4, scored twice and Jack Price also doubled for Glacier.

LIBBY — Mission Valley Mariners scored a run in the top of the fifth to tie it at 4-all and pushed another run across the plate in the eighth for the win.

Izyk Gillingham, 1 for 4, had two RBIs for the Mariners. Xavier Fisher, 3 for 4, drove in a run along with James Bennett, 1 for 4.

Ben Corriveau and Aidan Smith topped the Lakers hitting with 2 for 4 performances, along with Mckade Schara, 2 for 2. Corriveau had two RBIs.

Schara doubled twice and drove in a run.

Caden Willis and Ben Corriveau also doubled for Kalispell.

LIBBY — The Bitterroot Red Sox led 6-0 after two innings and rolled to an easy first-round victory.

Nick Draper drove in four runs and pitched three innings to earn the victory.

Dillon Pilkerton, 3 for 4, Mitchell Spinetta, 1 for 2, and Tyson Rostad all had two RBIs each. Tyler Davis also doubled for the Red Sox.

Brendan Schneiter, 2 for 3, homered for the Bucs while Andrew Scully, 2 for 3, and Brodie Hinsdale, 1 for 3, both doubled.

LIBBY — Ten different players had hits with Aydan Williamson, 2 for 5, and Tucker Masters, 3 for 3, both driving in four runs to power the Libby Loggers to an easy win over Cranbrook in the final game on opening day.

Libby had 20 hits total. Shayne Walker led the hit parade with four, three of those were doubles. Alex Svensbye also had three hits.

Masters doubled and Williamson tripled.
