Dorothy Jean 'Jerry' Buck, 85
Dorothy Jean “Jerry” Buck went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 19, 2019 with her loving husband by her side.
Dorothy was born to Arthur and Dorothy Redfield on February 25, 1934 at the family home in Lakeside, where she spent her childhood and lived at the time of her passing. Dorothy lived her life through her Lord and Savior and was the pride of her family. Dorothy met the love of her life John “Jack” Buck while in high school. The bond these two created inspired the generations around her. Jack went into the U.S. Army and while in the service they wrote love letters until his return. On May 14, 1954 Jack and Dorothy made their vows and were married for 64 wonderful years. They had 72 years of memories.
Together throughout the years their family grew. Jack and Dorothy had seven children and she was a very devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She spent 29 years at Kalispell Regional Hospital as a seamstress and loved her hospital family. Her grandchildren often visited her while she worked and nothing made her prouder than to show off her grandchildren. She was so devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren. She would be given several schedules of her numerous grandchildren’s school and sports events and, with her husband by her side, they went to every single event. She was always found in the stands, cheering.
She was an amazing seamstress, always making our babies sweaters, socks and blankets. She wove rugs by hand on her loom and enjoyed selling them at the Farmers Market. Louise Redfield was her sister-in-law, but more her best friend, and they spent many years at the Farmers Market together. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and, most importantly, spending time with her family
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 64 years, Jack Buck, and her children Doug Buck, Vicki Swartzenberger, Ronnie Buck, Kenny Buck, Robert Buck (wife Lynn) and Josie Buck, all of Kalispell. She was blessed with 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson and one on the way. Her siblings are Arthur (Bud) Redfield, Bainbridge Island, WA, Joseph Redfield and wife Louise of Lakeside, Charles (Rusty) Redfield and wife Maureen of Lakeside. She also had her “adopted” grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
She is proceeded in death by her parents Arthur and Dorothy Redfield, Ed and Ruth Buck, sister Patricia Graham, Brother Larry Redfield (wife Lynn), son-in-law Jim Swartzenberger, beloved daughter Elizabeth ”Ruthie” Buck and grandson Joseph “Joe Joe” Buck.
