It's Heritage Days time in Columbia Falls

Celebrate the heritage of Columbia Falls at the Gateway to Glacier city’s annual Heritage Days Festival.

Events kick off Wednesday, July 24, with the 10th annual car show from 5 to 9 p.m. at Marantette Park.

The American Legion Freedom Post 72 will be preparing food from 4 to 7 p.m. to serve during the car show for a nominal fee/donation.

Thursday, July 25, the Community Market is open for business from 5 to 8 p.m. at O’Brien’s Liquor Store and The Coop, 830 First Ave. W., west of Glacier Bank. Families can enjoy free open swimming at Pinewood Park Pool from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. for adults and kids to 12 years old; and from 8:15 to 9:30 p.m. for adults and kids 13 years old and older. The Lion’s Club concert gets underway at 7 p.m. at Marantette Park.

On Friday, July 26, The Wildcat/Kat Athletic Endowment auction and barbecue is from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at The Coop. The cost is $10 per plate. A silent auction will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The live auction takes place 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., followed by a social with a cash bar and dancing live music by Music On The Move.

Both Friday and Saturday, July 27, an open rodeo will begin at 7 p.m. at the Blue Moon Arena at the northeast corner of U.S. and Montana 40, just behind the Blue Moon Bar & Grille.

Heritage Days will be in full swing Saturday. Here’s the rundown of events:

7 a.m. — Firemen’s Breakfast at Don Anderson Fire Hall, 624 First Ave. W.

7:30 a.m. — Early check-in at Berube Physical Therapy for Heritage Days 3 on 3 basketball tournament. Teams will consist of boys and girls, grades 5-6, grades 7-8 and grades 9-12 and a Men’s Open. Registration forms may be picked up at the Columbia Falls Chamber Office, Berube Physical Therapy, Glacier Bank and Whitefish Credit Union. Completed forms must be turned in by July 22 to any of the above locations. Contact Laura Gadwa at 892-2072 with any questions. Cost per team is $80.

8 a.m. — Boogie-to-the-Bank 5K and 10K Run. North Fork to Discovery Square . Contact Ashley Campbell at 406-751-4758 for more information.

9 a.m. — JIM’S Rat Race by Glacier Bank and JIM. (The race will start after the last runner is finished with the Boogie-to-the-Bank run) Open to children ages 4 to 13. It’s a short race from Whitefish Credit Union down to the Boogie-to-the- Bank finish line. Contact Ashley Campbell at 406-751-4758 for more information.

9 a m. to 5 p.m. – Arts, crafts, food vendors and activities for the kids at Marantette Park.

10 a.m. to 3 p.m. — The North Valley Senior Center fundraiser luncheon serves salads, sandwiches, pies and beverages. From 11 a.m. to noon enjoy the North Valley High Steppers line dancing entertainment. For more information, call the Center at 406-892-4087. The Center is located at 205 Nucleus Ave.

Noon – Main Parade on Nucleus Avenue, from Railroad Street to Seventh Street West. Parade participants will stage along Railroad Street at the north end of Nucleus Ave. at 11 a.m.

1 to 4 p.m. — Family Fun Day in the Glacier Bank parking lot.

1:30 p.m. — Freedom Bank’s Wild Horse Drive on U.S. 2 from Columbia Heights to the Blue Moon.

4 to 6:30 p.m. — Falls Fest fundraiser by the Rotary Club, with music by the Barn Yard Riot at Marantette Park.

7 p.m. — Open rodeo, 7 p.m. Blue Moon Arena

7 to 9:45 p.m. — Falls Fest fundraiser by the Rotary Club, with music by The Brothers at Marantette Park.

On Sunday, July 28, the 19th annual WAEA Wildcat/Kat Athletic Endowment Golf Scramble has a shotgun start at 9 a.m. at Glacier View Golf Course in West Glacier.
