Breakfast bandits make off with tip jar, too

Transients in tank tops allegedly stole breakfast from a hotel buffet — and the tip jar — before taking off. An employee told Kalispell Police Department the breakfast bandits were captured on video and appeared to be on drugs.

Police received a report that a weird woman, who appeared to be on drugs, came up to their door, shook the handle, and tried to sell cookies on a paper plate that she claimed were homemade.

A man was being belligerent to dispatchers regarding a purported smoke smell and possible fire in the area. It was a barbecue.

A man walking his dog told officers people were “going nuts” before disconnecting. When dispatchers called the man back he said he could hear banging and screaming. Apparently, it was a verbal argument between a man and woman and the man allegedly was “beating up his own property in frustration.”

A woman called 911 and asked for British Airlines, but hung up when she was asked for more information.

A trio of transients with open containers were spotted in the bushes near Woodland Park Drive and Conrad Drive.

A man with a baseball bat, who was arguing with a woman, was supposedly seen going in and out of four different vehicles, and, like Goldilocks, he settled on an SUV that was just right and drove off “very fast and recklessly.”

A kid was allegedly knocking on a woman’s door “for the last hour” claiming he couldn’t sleep and asking if she “had anything he could take to get to sleep.” The woman said she thought he was 12 years old and “part of a gang that hangs out in the parking lot near her house.” She told officers she advised her landlord on the ongoing issues with the kids smoking pot in the area and other suspicious activity.

Someone noticed water coming through the ceiling and down the walls of their apartment and requested a welfare check on the upstairs resident who allegedly had medical issues. Everything was OK and the woman reportedly “fell asleep with the water on.”

A man may have been contacted by a scammer when someone called claiming to be with the DEA and said his name came up during an investigation along with his Social Security number.

Someone claiming to be with Child Protective Services out of Eureka requested police assistance due to concerns they were being followed in the Kalispell area by a tan vehicle. Montana Highway Patrol reportedly stopped the vehicle and advised them to “cease and desist.”
