Booze exacerbates neighborhood spat

Flathead County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call from Conrad Drive residents who were purportedly being attacked by intoxicated neighbors. Roughly five to seven people were supposedly yelling and cussing when one of them started hitting someone else with a stick before going back to their trailer. The fight was said to have possibly started over loud music.

Deputies received a report about an agitated transient woman who had been sitting in front of a U.S. 93 store all day with a box of wine as her companion. An employee told deputies she allegedly attempted to start a fire, was talking to herself and getting loud. She eventually moved on after repeatedly being asked to leave.

A woman on Montana 35 in Kalispell told deputies a man riding a bicycle was allegedly carrying a “small baby” in a basket. She was concerned about the welfare of the baby who purportedly “fell over” in the basket and started to cry. She claimed the man came to her car and refused to let her leave.

A passerby on Montana 206 in Columbia Falls was suspicious of a man “dressed warmer than he should be for this weather” who was seen running in the middle of traffic waving his arms and reportedly trying to stop vehicles, saying people were chasing him.

A Rusty Trail resident in Kalispell reported receiving secondhand information that a kid stole seven batteries from his home after being told to leave them alone.

A woman on Kings Way in Kalispell believed her ex cut the cords on her lawn mower.

A Columbia Falls resident was concerned about people on Jensen Road who allegedly were shooting toward Springer Road and that her neighbors were afraid to go outside because bullets allegedly had been ricocheting around the neighborhood last week. A renter advised law enforcement he would “make some adjustments.”

A man calling from Latigo Lane in Bigfork told deputies he owed his “friend” some money and the friend reportedly sent a text threatening to destroy his house with a sledgehammer.

Someone on U.S. 2 had qualms about a business seal-coating their parking lot and blowing dust into their buildings. They were advised this was a civil issue.

A screaming woman, who didn’t know where she was at, said something about her foot being run over and was in a vehicle with a man before the line disconnected. On the third call back the woman, who may have been in Kila, said “they left and I’m at a friend’s house,” and “everyone is asleep” before hanging up.

A black bear was spotted getting into a barbecue grill on Glenwood Road and that there were people outside, according to the Whitefish Police Department.

A woman on Lupfer Avenue was very upset when a father allegedly yelled at his baby and called the infant a “mother------” because it was crying and wanted an officer to check on the baby.

Someone calling from an apartment building Wisconsin Avenue told police they could hear a man screaming on and off for about an hour. Police made contact with a woman who was reportedly being “very loud” in her apartment and she was advised to keep the noise down.

Someone on Third Street told officers it appeared someone threw a brick at a vehicle parked near a church.

A black bear was spotted on Iowa Avenue dining on the contents of a tipped-over trashcan left outside.

A woman’s ex reportedly showed up on Pheasant Run and threw her into a wall. The man was cited for being disorderly and disturbing the peace.

An intoxicated man was allegedly having trouble pushing his bike and threw it into a woman’s yard on Edgewood Place and then stood there. He was purportedly upset about wrecking his bike and yelled at the woman while she was outside.

Kalispell Police Department received a report from a woman who found bamboo fencing she had over her strawberries, broken and thrown into the neighbor’s yard. She believed the culprit may be an aggressive deer.

A man told police a yellow Labrador “barks on the hour, every hour, for every little thing,” but he was currently at work and unsure if the dog was still barking on its schedule.

Someone reported a possibly intoxicated man was allegedly loitering around trashcans, “yelling at no one” and kept falling down when trying to stand. When dispatchers asked the person calling in the report for contact information they “became obstinate” and hung up. The man, who was partially disabled, reportedly “tipped over whilst having a smoke.” He was helped back into an apartment.

A motorcycle was “popping wheelies” up and down a street and went past someone’s house about three times.

A woman said her daughter’s estranged boyfriend was yelling at her through the door about his daughter, whom he claimed had been kidnapped by her mother.

A woman wanted to find out what to do with a boat she sold to a man last year who never came and got it.

A woman on Third Avenue told Columbia Falls Police Department that people, possibly her grandchildren, were allegedly sitting out in a car smoking marijuana and were “fixing to take her money.” The woman said she was having an ongoing problem with “kids” stealing from her.

A passerby on Ninth Street was concerned about an older man in a powered wheelchair whose bandaged foot was reportedly dragging on the ground and bleeding profusely. They said someone was trying to help him.

Someone calling from Hilltop Road was concerned about five people allegedly shooting guns in the direction of a housing area because it was “so late.”

Someone told officers they believed an intoxicated 40 to 50-year-old, who was supposedly on probation, was allegedly making sexual advances toward a 14-year-old and was “being inappropriate” with other females.

A woman on Ninth Street called dispatchers to say she felt safe now after earlier reporting to authorities about being followed by a man she claimed took her to a fishing access point and made her strip down to prove she didn’t steal his wallet, and then dropped her off at another location where she was able to get to her car.
