Soulful reggae band Zahira & Rising Buffalo comes to Coram

| June 7, 2019 8:12 AM

Soulful Female-Fronted Reggae Band Zahira & Rising Buffalo Tribe will be stopping by the Stonefly Lounge in Coram Wednesday, June 12, for their 2019 Mystic One Tour.

The band takes the stage at 9 p.m. Admission is free. The show is for anyone 21 and older.

Based in Portland, Zahira & Rising Buffalo Tribe are a five-piece roots reggae band that incorporates elements of funk, pop and dub. Collectively, their sound is both driven and characterized by lush vocal harmonies, deep grooving bass lines, and soaring guitar solos. Led by front woman Zahira’s soulful, heartfelt vocals and inspiring lyricism, Zahira & Rising Buffalo Tribe deliver powerful and energetic performances that never fail to open hearts and enliven audiences.

The band’s 2019 Mystic One Tour comes as a follow-up to the release of its most recent single, “Mystic One” — an uplifting reggae anthem that calls listeners to live fearlessly and with an open heart. “Mystic One” was recorded at Grammy-nominated B-Side Studios in Portland by producer Avi Brown (Stephen Marley, Bill Kreutzmann, Soulstice). The recording was then mixed and mastered in Spain by Henry Sarmiento (Lady Gaga, 50 Cent, Tower of Power). The professional level of production on the track is clearly evident when listening to the finished product.

Incorporating a visual element and bringing the song further to life, Zahira and RBT set out to film a music video that would illustrate the essence of “Mystic One.”

Zahira & RBT have shared the stage with Junior Reid, Prezident Brown, Chezidek, The Wailers, The Original Wailers, Jah 9, Wailing Souls, Indubious, Sol Seed and more. In addition, Zahira has personally collaborated with Luciano, The Cannabis Cup Band, Bibi McGill (Music Director @ Beyonce), KRS One, Yami Bolo, Red Fox & Don One Sound. She has toured both in her native home of Canada, in the USA, as well as Israel, Bali, Thailand, Mexico, Dominican Republic and Canada. Together Zahira & RBT can be seen regularly playing live all over the Pacific Northwest and California. Their music wins the hearts of new fans in each place they play as they continue on their mission to bring inspiration to the world through the power of sound.
