Born in Overly, North Dakota, to Victor and Alice (Ricketts) Bush, Betty was the second of seven children and a bit of a tomboy. In her youth she loved riding the family horses Topsy and Queenie and always preferred milking the cows and shucking wheat instead of sewing.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Dorothy Langenfeld and Evelyn Timmerman, and brother Lloyd Bush, husband Oscar LaCroix, second husband Alfred LaCroix, and sons Daniel LaCroix and Michael LaCroix.

She is survived by her children, Rick (Kathy) LaCroix of Overland Park, Kansas, Ted (Wanda) LaCroix of Grecia, Costa Rica, Anne LaCroix of Missoula, Laurie LaCroix of Kalispell, and Robin (Carolyn) LaCroix of Kalispell; as well as 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Her surviving siblings are Helen (Buck) Ruppelius of Saint John, North Dakota, Lois Green of Yakima, Washington, and Donnie (Joni) Bush of Langdon, North Dakota.

A memorial Mass will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, June 13, at Risen Christ Catholic Church. A graveside service will be held in North Dakota at a later date.
