Glacier and Flathead high schools will be well represented at the Knights of Columbus Badlands Bowl football game on Saturday in Miles City.

Representing Glacier are Ethan Baines (defensive line), Nico Young (guard) and Preston Blaine (running back).

For Flathead, Sebastian Koch (guard) and Jaden MacNeil (defensive back) are on the Montana roster.

This game pits the top graduated seniors from Montana against those from North Dakota.

Montana, 55-7 winners a year ago, has won the last four bowl games and seven of the last eight. Montana leads the series 19-6.

Blaine concluded a fabulous career with the Wolfpack by rushing for 1,622 yards in 2018. That was third best in Class AA. He averaged 5.9 yards per carry, scored 26 touchdowns and had a season long TD run of 80 yards.

Montana will have Blake Thelen of Great Falls High and Kris Brown of Bozeman quarterbacking the team.

Thelen passed for 3,005 yards last fall, connecting on 228 of 365 passes (63 percent) for 28 touchdowns. He was intercepted six times.

Brown threw for 2,843 yards. He was 180 of 265 passing (68 percent) with 31 touchdowns and nine interceptions.

Thelen and Brown will be passing to Billings West’s Jesse Owens, Class AA’s co-offensive MVP last year. Owens is one of five wide receivers on the Montana roster.

Owens, statistically, was second best in AA in receiving yards with 1,126 and totaled 15 touchdowns. He averaged 18.1 yards per reception and had 67 receptions. His season long was 81 yards.
