Flag Day

A Flag Day ceremony is planned for 11 a.m. today at Depot Park in Kalispell. The public is welcome.

Patriotic music will be played from 10:30 to 11 a.m., followed by an introduction, opening prayer and brief speeches.

The Civil Air Patrol will present flags and United Veterans of the Flathead Valley will conduct both a flag retirement and Honor Guard ceremonies with burning of old flags by officers of the Elks.

Older Americans Picnic

The Agency on Aging hosts the 41st annual Older Americans Picnic today at the Flathead County Fairgrounds Expo Building.

All age 60 and older are invited to attend this free picnic. Doors open at 10 a.m. with lunch served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This year’s theme is “Changing the Conversation on Aging.”

The Sunshine Chorus will perform prior to the lunch service. Enjoy food, entertainment, information tables and door prizes.

Learn about snakes

Ranger talk about the snakes of Montana from 6:30-7:30 p.m. today at Lone Pine State Park, near Kalispell. To reserve your spot, call 755-2706.

Ferndale bake sale

The Ferndale Sewing Circle bake sale has a bake sale from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Ferndale Community Center, across from Ferndale Fire Hall on Montana 209. Proceeds go to community projects. Call 837-7278 for more information.

Milk and cookies

Kalispell Kreamery celebrates its 10th anniversary with an open house from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at 480 Lost Creek Dr. in Kalispell.

Enjoy free family fun and free samples at the dairy, visit the cows, see the operation, and have a free glass of milk with a fresh, local cookie.

Kalispell Kreamery and Hedstrom Dairy produce all-natural dairy products right on the farm, using natural husbandry and minimal processing.

Pine Grove Pond

Families are invited to enjoy a day of fishing and outdoor education from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Pine Grove Pond in memory of the late Robin Street.

Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks staff will lead educational stations. Youth participants will be provided fishing equipment if needed. Raffle prizes will be awarded throughout the event.

Pine Grove Pond is located 3 miles northeast of Kalispell off Rose Crossing east of Whitefish Stage Road and just west of the Whitefish River.

The pond is catch-and-release for trout, except anglers 14 and younger may take one trout daily.

Jr. Ranger Day

Saturday is Junior Ranger Day from noon to 3 p.m. at Flathead Lake State Park, Wayfarers Unit. Enjoy games, activities and earn a junior ranger badge. Meet at the Harry Horn Picnic Shelter.

Moose brewfest

The Whitefish Moose Lodge has a brewfest fundraiser from 2 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday. The lodge is located at 230 W. 10th St.

Thirteen breweries will be featured. A full bar and food will be available.

Tickets are $20 in advance, available at Whitefish Pottery and Great Northern Brewing Co. Tickets are $25 at the door.

Lone Pine BioBlitz

Lone Pine State Park is having a BioBlitz from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday.

Community members are invited to work with park staff to create a snapshot of the variety of wildlife that can be found at Lone Pine. Registration is required. Call 755-2706, ext. 0 or ext. 4.

Swim with dad

Woodland Water Park in Kalispell invites dads to swim for $3 with a child admission from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Father’s Day.

Father’s Day brunch

A Father’s Day brunch and benefit for Neighbors in Need is offered from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the Springcreek Room at the Hampton Inn, 1140 U.S. 2 W., in Kalispell. Catering will be by Vista Linda. A silent gift basket auction will take place.

Tickets are $15, available at the door or call United Way at 752-7266.

One hundred percent of proceeds will help local families with emergency needs.
