Lakers AA drop 1st game of DH to Billings Royals AA

The Kalispell Lakers AA scored nine runs in the fourth inning and led 13-8 after six in the second game of a doubleheader against the Billings Royals AA at Griffin Field late Saturday evening.

A final score for the American Legion baseball game was not available by press time.

The Royals scored a run at the top of the ninth inning to break a tie and beat the Lakers 3-2 in the first game. An error by Lakers pitcher Logan Siblerud allowed Billings to score the go-ahead run.

The Lakers (17-6 overall, 1-6 league) scored two runs in the sixth to tie the game.

Connor Hunter led the Royals in hits, going 3 for 5 at the plate. Randy Stultz and Jack Corriveau each had one hit for the Lakers.

Pitchers Wesley Palmer, AJ Wood and Siblerud struck out eight batters combined.

The Lakers host the Royals today at noon.
