Opportunistic thief makes off with Subaru

A man called the Kalispell Police Department to report someone had stolen his 1997 Subaru Legacy. Despite the age of the vehicle, it was a prime candidate for theft due to the fact it was left unlocked and running. The driver left his mom’s cellphone number because his was left in the car.

Someone reported that dogs were not being fed because when he saw them actually being fed, the canines “downed two bowls of food quickly.” The man said he confronted the dog owners about the matter. When it was investigated, an officer learned the dogs are well-fed, have water and access to the home through a doggie door. The woman taking care of the dogs said her aunt is out of town for the week and she was house-sitting. She said she would be more attentive to the dogs to prevent chronic barking issues.

A panting and yelping dog was seen in a red pickup truck in a parking lot.

A man with a suspended driver’s license and no insurance backed into another driver’s truck, causing minor damage. Both parties exchanged information and the man with no license or insurance was cited.

Someone wanted to get a restraining order because he said he was being stalked.

A store manager called about a juvenile who had constructed a “private” drinking area in the lawn and garden department. The manager found the clean-shaven, “preppy” teen who had set up dog beds with a cooler containing alcohol and juice.

Someone reported that vehicles were “running” the temporary stop sign at the corner of Woodland Park Drive and Shady Glen Drive. The sign was put up due to construction work on Conrad Drive.

A man being released from a center said he was just going to go back to dealing drugs.

A woman said she received a “weird” text message grouped with 19 others, all numbers she didn’t recognize, from someone seeking partners to engage in intimate activities.
