Legion Baseball Loggers top Northern Lakes at Big Bucks Tournament
LIBBY — Quade Anderson and Jeff Offenbecher combined on a 2-hitter and Trey Thompson drove in two runs as the Libby Loggers A improved to 2-0 at its Big Bucks Baseball Tournament Friday evening with a 5-1 victory over Northern Lakes.
Anderson pitched the first 4 2/3 innings. He allowed both hits, one run, struck out three batters and issued two walks.
Offenbecher finished up, striking out four in 2 1/3 innings.
Leading 2-1 after three innings, the Loggers tallied three runs in the fifth to complete the scoring.
Libby had four hits with two of those doubles — one by Shayne Walker and the other by Anderson.
Donovan Fornall had the other hit for Libby.
Tournament play ends Sunday with the championship round starting at 9 a.m.
Libby plays the Tri-County Cardinals today at 6:15 p.m.
Western A American Legion action resumes for the Loggers on June 29th at 5 p.m. with a doubleheader at the Missoula Mavericks.
