911 caller advised of when to make call

A man called 911 about an ongoing issue with his dog that was not an immediate threat to life of property. He was told to call back on a non-emergency line and the man was counseled about misuse of the 911 line by a Kalispell Police Department officer.

An officer told the owners of two double-parked vehicles that if they were to do it again they would be ticketed.

Someone reported that a man smashed a woman’s face against the dashboard of the vehicle they were in, which was a green Chevy pickup. The caller said the woman was crying and the man had been driving erratically. When an officer arrived, there was no sign of the vehicle or its occupants in the parking lot or in the vicinity.

A caller said a drunk and confused man was in his driveway. He was apparently ready for the upcoming July 4 holiday as he wore a gray T-shirt adorned with an American flag, blue jeans and flip flops. The officer gave the man a ride to his motel and made sure he was properly tucked into his room.

A grandparent called because their 38-year-old grandson had returned to the residence and was repeatedly ringing the door bell. The caller didn’t want him there because he threatened the grandparent while staying at the home. An officer gave the grandson a ride to the appropriate facility.

The owner of a business called because a Subaru Outback was parked sideways across two spaces in his lot. Clothes were hanging on the mirror, a sun visor was in the front window and the caller said he couldn’t see anyone inside. When an officer had a look, he learned the vehicle owner was just organizing his gear before going on Middle Fork float trip.

A mother called with questions about the legalities of a particular situation when she learned the father of the child was driving with the kid in the front seat.

One man’s good deed went punished when the person he gave a ride to stole his cellphone and case.

A 911 call occurred when a man walking his dog in the Ashley Drive area tried to turn up the volume on his phone while watching a video.

Someone reported a transgender male had been knocking on doors in the neighborhood and asking for money. The caller said the man asked him if he wanted morphine and he told the man to leave. The caller said the man was wearing black leggings, a skirt and lots of jewelry, and he was carrying a mirror.

A woman said a man with short, gray hair in a dark blue 4-door truck with disabled license plates drove slowly near her as she walked to her van near the skating rink. He stopped near her before speeding way.

A man wearing a dress was accused of stealing from a grocery store and ran when confronted with the accusation. The caller said he thought he could hear the man ripping open packages in the bathroom. When an officer arrived, the man was trespassed and taken to the county jail.
