Lake County fatality was medical-related, not traffic accident
A fatality reported in connection with a traffic accident late Tuesday night in Lake County turned out to be something else.
According to Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Brian Thorne, the initial report indicated the death of a North Dakota woman had occurred on Montana 83 at about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.
But after an investigation, it turned out the woman had suffered a heart attack while camping with her husband. Trooper Thorne said the man unsuccessfully tried CPR, but then attempted to take her to the hospital when the crash occurred.
