On Monday, Feb. 25, 2019, Jan passed away peacefully in her sleep of natural causes.

She was born Jan Esther Joyce on March 30, 1952, to Dennis and Hazel Joyce in Pueblo, Colorado, and was raised in the Kalispell/Whitefish area.

Jan married Geoffrey Brinton in 1975 and had a total of three children.

Jan’s careers included house cleaning, dishwashing/prep cook and elderly care.

Jan loved being around and also helping people. She used to frequent “old Sykes” and sit around the “round table” having coffee and “bs-ing.” She was loved by the community and was known for her caring and loving nature.

Jan was preceded in death by both of her parents, two brothers, and husband.

Jan is survived by her three children, Leslie (Aric) Littlefield, Michael (Heang) Brinton and Rebecca Brinton; seven grandchildren, Caleb, Kaylynn, Alex, Joe, Justin, Jasmine Brinton and Jourdan Joyce; and great-grandson, Cooper Brinton.

She adored and was very proud of her grandchildren. She is also survived by her four sisters, Carol Denny, Jewel Bond, Paula Anderson Heil and Patti Pagan.

A celebration of life will be held summer of 2019 at a date to be determined.

Instead of flowers, we are asking that donations be made care of Jan’s daughter Leslie Littlefield, 100 S. Curtis No. 2, Missoula, MT 59801, to help with costs of not only the funeral but the care of her 16-year-old granddaughter that she was raising.
