The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Kalispell will be closed for several weeks for renovations.

The Salvation Army in Kalispell provides social services to families in need. Among the programs offered are a meal program, food bank, rent and utility assistance, and emergency disaster services. Last year, the Kalispell unit served more than 2,200 individuals in the community.

“We have a strong tradition of operating a thrift store in Kalispell. It’s a popular shopping destination, and the proceeds from the items sold support Salvation Army services to local families in need,” said Capt. Jonathan Harvey, the general secretary of The Salvation Army in the Northwest. “But it’s time for some updates.”

Harvey oversees business operations of the nonprofit social-service agency.

The store will reopen in late March with a grand reopening celebration.

During the closure, donations of gently used furniture, clothing, household goods will continue to be accepted. Donation days and times are Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the store, 1500 S. Main St.
