Willetta Anna Boehm, 86

Willetta Anna Boehm, 86, of Kalispell, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at BeeHive Homes in Kalispell.

She was born and raised in Richardton, North Dakota. Willie graduated in 1951 from Dickinson High School, Dickinson, North Dakota. She went to school as well for telephone operator schooling, and cake decorating at Flathead Valley Community College. Joseph Boehm, who was serving in the U.S Army while he was on leave in North Dakota, asked Willetta to marry him. They were married on Aug. 28, 1951, in Tacoma, Washington. After Joe’s discharge, they returned to North Dakota to work on the family farm. In the mid-1950s Joe and Willie moved to Montana. She worked as the Marion postmaster for 24 years and owned and operated Marion General Store with Joe for 12 years. Prior to this they operated a service station. She was a member of National League of Postmasters and a 4-H leader.

Willie was preceded in death by her husband Joseph E. Boehm, daughter LaDonna Hodge, and grandson Patrick Hodge.

She is survived by her children, Debra Engelhard (Dennis), Gregory Boehm (Christine), Delane Steiner (Charles), Michele Glazier (Harold), and Dan Hodge (Argelia); and grandchildren, Andrea, Lisa, Ethan, Casey, Chanz, Paige, Quinn, Jonathan and Cody; as well as 14 great-grandchildren.

Her life will be celebrated at a funeral service at noon on Friday, March 15, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Kalispell. A visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Glacier Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pastor Mark Cutler will officiate.

Memorial contributions are encouraged in her name to the Montana Alzehimer’s Association, or memorial of your choice.
