Selma Wiedmeier, 88

Selma Wiedmeier, 88 years old, passed on March 11, 2019, at her home in Ava, Missouri, with her loving family by her side.

Selma was born March 11, 1931, in Tremonton, Utah, to Erick August and Marie (Sedell) Stenquist.

On August 25, 1958, Selma and Elmer Andrew Wiedmeier were united in marriage in Pocatello, Idaho. They were later sealed in the Cardston, Alberta, Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Selma truly believed in serving others, her family and friends. That was her joy in life. Always thinking of her family, she would send birthday and anniversary cards every month to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also known for her many talents, one of which was creating crocheted blankets for newborn babies.

Selma was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She and Elmer faithfully visited members of her church, providing a social and spiritual connection to those she visited. She had many callings within the church often serving the children and youth. During her life, Selma lived in many states but always felt that Montana was her home.

Selma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Elmer, two brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by her children, Randy and Linda Wiedmeier, Susan Wiedmeier and Cheryl McGovern, Val and JoLinda Wiedmeier, and Lezlie and Troy Atwood, 15 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and her twin sister, Thelma Miller.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 22, 2019, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1380 Whitefish Stage, Kalispell, MT 59901. Her final resting place will be at the C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery in Kalispell.

Arrangements are entrusted to Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home and Crematory.
