Suspicious 'things' lurking in the trees

A woman on Boxcar Way in Coram told Flathead County Sheriff’s Office she found some suspicious things in the trees that border her property that she didn’t put there. It wasn’t clear what exactly the “things” were.

Law enforcement deployed Stop Sticks (tire deflation devices) in pursuit of a woman who was driving recklessly in the Canyon area on U.S. 2. The woman was allegedly speeding and passing in a no-passing zone. She was taken into custody and to the hospital for a blood draw. The suspect may have been on her way to meet, or pick up, someone at a Glacier National Park campground.

An upset woman on Cougar Trail in Whitefish was walking her dog when she was supposedly knocked down by three dogs that weren’t leashed.

Three young males looked suspicious to a passerby on North Street in Hungry Horse when they allegedly were acting “very out of place” and trying the door handles of a building. They were moved along.

A trio of Angus cattle was seen roaming on the side of Hodgson Road near Columbia Falls when they belonged in Whitefish.

A woman said her son ran off a dog found in their chicken coop on Caroline Road in Kalispell. No chickens were injured.

Someone on United Drive in Kalispell reported someone shooting in the area and claimed there have been past issues with people hitting storage units. Deputies contacted a recreational shooter who had reportedly been aiming at a berm.

A 14th Street resident in Kalispell was concerned for their safety when a man was allegedly shooting squirrels in trees that were in the direction of the resident’s house. The resident, calling for advice, felt he was not shooting in a safe direction.

A man on Fourth Avenue in Columbia Falls wanted assistance in getting a trailer back that he loaned to a man who was in jail. The trailer was also said to be behind a locked gate.

A 17- to 19-year-old male with dark curly hair purportedly stole a six-pack of beer on U.S. 2 in Kalispell.

Third-hand information was passed along to deputies that a woman was purportedly being choked on U.S. 2 in Kalispell. A woman called deputies back alleging that she talked to the alleged victim saying she was lying to law enforcement and wanted them to check her neck.

A man was drinking and relaxing at home in Kalispell when his girlfriend allegedly came home and punched him in the face. The shocked man hid in his bedroom and locked the door.

A woman told officers she needed to feed birds in a Ferndale Drive house in Bigfork, but was locked out by a man she was estranged from and wanted to know if she could get in trouble with the law if she forced entry, noting her name was on the title as well as the man. Based on the information, she was advised that she had a right to gain access, or could wait until more deputies were on duty for a civil standby.

A man on Seventh Street, who was supposedly kicked out of an apartment for drug use, was allegedly threatening someone before he left town he had a “score to settle” with them and the “quiet apartments won’t be so quiet tonight.” Extra patrol by Columbia Falls Police Department was requested.

Someone on Third Avenue reported a few people were trying to enter the house and a man allegedly threatened to break the windows of a woman’s vehicle.
