Man who died in Lake McDonald identified
A missing Arizona man whose body was recovered from Lake McDonald in Glacier National Park on Tuesday has been identified.
Wei Liu, 48, of Tempe, Arizona, died after falling into the lake and was unable to return to the dock, according to Flathead County Sheriff’s Office.
Park dispatch received a missing person notification at 9 a.m. on Tuesday from a concerned family member. The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office dive team deployed a remote operated vehicle and found and recovered Liu’s body on Tuesday afternoon.
The incident is under investigation by Glacier National Park.
Although the lake may be frozen in areas, Glacier National Park officials urge people to stay off frozen water, which may be unstable.
